It was an overcast sort of day; one that seemed to chase the sun away every small chance it got to shine down at Collinwood. The cracked asphalt that laid before them was nothing but a crumbling dirt road at this point. Ensi made a mental note that the old concrete be dug up and carried off to the Concrete Jungle at some point. It was unbecoming of Upper Collinwood to look this shabby.

Dressed in pressed and bright, elegant fabrics, Ensi was a sight to behold... even on the streets of Upper Collinwood, where the few wealthy collected for business and for comfort. A long, flowing overcoat coupled with pressed pants adorned her form. It was almost a stark contrast to the Knight that walked beside her - dressed in iron and armor.

Ensi stole glances at him here and there, and without voicing it, she decided that he was rather handsome... But that was all the subject got from her. She was a big-eyed child in a toy store, free to galavant with her father's riches. Like a fly to shit, she stopped at the first stall with glittering and shiny jewels up for display. She picked up a necklace with a fat, ruby red rock pendant and held it to the light, squinting at the stone. The shopkeeper's eyes were on her, and he opened his mouth to begin talking, though choked on his words.

left it vague! Feel free to add whatever to this! Dated for May 2nd, 2755.

It had been a great honor for him to have been handpicked by the King. He had been briefed in on what he was supposed to be doing by his Commander once he had been chosen from the lineup of Knights, he easily found himself ready for this opportunity. The Commander had spoken of becoming one of the new Knights that would escort his prized daughter, whom had just chased off (or got killed) another one of her personal Knights. Spartacus couldn't imagine what she could have done to chase off yet another Knight, but he assumed that it couldn't have been that bad, and if he did good, maybe he could find himself with a promotion in the future. This was merely a stepping stone for him, he thought, and he would overcome this as he did all the other challenges before now.

Spartacus did not question, he only followed the young woman closely as she made her way from the castle and into Upper Collinwood's exclusive Marketplace. It was a safe place here, which merely seemed like an easy task for him, but if the woman did not put herself into danger, then he would be more than glad to go to the most mundane places.

Sparta had been typically silent as he walked along, the small clinking of the armor being the only real sounds that came from him as he walked alongside the young woman. She had been dressed in her finest garm, something that screamed "I'm Important" to him, that was quite colorful. Spartacus did like her clothing choice and style, but Sparta also did not have the riches to be able to afford such a luxury, for armor often ran a higher price with as fancy as one might want it.

Once the two finally stopped at a stall, Spartacus looked around before turning his attention to the woman for a moment and the object she had in her hand. It was a beautiful ruby stone that was attached to a golden chain. It was a beautiful creation, but Sparta doubted that this shopkeeper would value the stone at something reasonable. "That's a pretty stone. Looks like it might cost a small fortune." he spoke as he looked the shopkeeper in his eyes with an intense stare.

Ensi held up the stone to the light, letting it twinkle in the sunlight. He flicked her eyes at the shopkeeper whose eyes were on her and his lips parted just a bit. A canine, he was. A scraggly-looking one at that. How did he get his paws on such a beautiful gempiece?

"My father's small fortune," she gloated, unlatching the clasp of the necklace and moving to Spartacus for him to put it on her. Her yellow eyes were on the shopkeeper now, though. "How much?"

"F-five pounds in gems, your grace," he replied without missing a beat.

Perhaps a poorer customer would've balked at the obviously inflated price, but Ensi merely blinked. "Consider it done. Payment will be delivered to you later this evening."

"Your grace, I cannot let you take the necklace until I receive payment. It's only f-fair,"[/i] the canine shopkeeper stuttered, knowing full well he was making a daring move denying Princess Ensi. He moved around his stall and made towards her, holding out his paw for the necklace.

Her movement towards him was met with a silent command, and he followed it with little hesitation in his movements. She had passed the jeweled necklace to him, and he took it in both of his hands and he placed it around her neck gently, before clasping it and letting the necklace fall to her neckline. It was pretty on her, but he found himself largely uninterested in much else about the princess than her material prowess. "It looks nice on you." he complimented, albeit with an icy tone that he commonly donned.

His attention had been pulled to shopkeep and the princess as they interacted. A delay of payment was not uncommon for someone of high stature such as the princess, for it would have been dangerous for them to also carry too much coin on them. Spartacus found that this man might not have been used to dealing with someone with such prestige. As the canine came around his stall to put his grubby paw out towards the lady, Sparta's reaction was much too quick and he grabbed at the wrist of the canine and he pulled the creature towards himself.

"I'd advise honoring the princess's word, my friend." the words were a veiled threat, as the male's grip got slightly tighter on the wolf's wrist.
